Owl Be Your Valentine!

Our little Kindergarten Valentines had the best time showing their love for their friends during our Valentine's Day party this week!  We started off our Ash Wednesday with a personal visit from our pastors.  They explained the significance of Ash Wednesday to us, and then gave us the opportunity to line up and receive the sign of the cross in ashes on our foreheads.  We heard again that God loves us SO much that he send Jesus to die for our sins.  As we start the Lenten season, we remember this great sacrifice as we follow Jesus to the cross over the next 40 days.

After lunch, we went to church with the whole school to hear more about how Jesus death and resurrection gives us all a REDO on the wrong things we do, say, and think.  What a blessing to know that we are saved by this great gift of grace through our faith in Jesus!  Now, THAT'S a VaLENTine we can treasure forever and ever <3.

Our room mother and her family hooked us up with a great Valentine craft, snack, and the cutest goodie bags, ever!  :)  I think it is safe to say that everyone had a blast, and way too much sugar!!  LOL

100 Days Smarter!

Somehow, we have arrived at the 100th day of school already!  How did that happen SO fast?  We made the most of our special day, with counting, counting, and more counting.  We counted to 100 by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s. We read 100th day of school books, danced and exercised with reps of 10 jumping jacks, toe touches, etc. until we reached 100.   We counted 100 steps to see where we would finish.  Our predictions were pretty close this year.  We are 100 days smarter, after all!  :)  Our 100th day snack was awesome (we counted 1200 pieces in all!), and we made crowns that were the topper of the day, as we wore them proudly for the whole school to see.   I love 100 Day, and I think that was a unanimous emotion this year  <3.
