Catching Up!

Even with the occasional snow and cold days, we have been SO busy these past few weeks!  I am setting aside the next couple of installments to help "catch you up" on our latest happenings in Kindergarten.  I apologize for the delay, but once you hear about all of our parties, trips, and events...you'll understand!  :)

We celebrated Valentine's Day with our Kinder Friends by decorating cookies (and eating them, of course!), playing some fun games, and passing out our Valentine cards.  We couldn't do all of these great things without the help of our parents, so I want to thank them again for their time and efforts!

Aren't they just too sweet!?!

Along the way, we had a super fun snack that I need to share with you!  Hayden's mommy spent some extra time to make our snack, but I think she knew it was worth the time when she saw our faces and heard our giggles!  These apples were a blast, they tasted great, and they were a healthy option to counter some of our not-so-healthy favorites!!
 Sproiiiinnnggg!!
 What will it do???
  Cool!!!
Through the busiest times, we still find time to work with math centers weekly, and we ALWAYS ask for our teacher to take pictures, so here's one recent masterpiece made with our characteristic bears!
We sorted by color and size!!!  What smart friends!!

100 Days in Kindergarten!

One hundred days ago, we started our 2014-2015 school year in Kindergarten!  Several friends were nervous, many were excited, and everyone (including me) was curious about what our year would hold. Now, twenty-two school weeks later we are like a well-oiled machine.  Our goals have been set and are being met, we have made new friends, we know the "lay of the land" here at Bethlehem, and our faith has grown by leaps and bounds as we learn about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, each and every day!  Suffice it to say, it's been a great 100 days!!!

Mrs. Tucker wrote a 100 Day litany for our teacher devotions this morning, and I liked it so much that I decided to do the same in Kindergarten.  We each took turns telling what we wanted to thank God for, and it went like this:

100 days of snack
100 days of recess
100 days of playing
100 days of lunch
100 days of homework
100 days of sight words
100 days of color words
100 days of reading books
100 days of rest time
and
100 days of learning about God!

Thank you, God, for 100 days of laughter, learning, and fun in our awesome Kindergarten class!!!  I can't wait to see what the rest of the year holds for us!  :)

Lined up for our 100 step walk!  Where will 100 steps take us??

100 Day selfie!!  Don't you just love our 100 Day glasses!?!  LOL

Go Noodle!

There are certain days when we cannot go outside, due to cold temperatures, rain/sleet, etc., so instead we have been shaking the wiggles out with the Go Noodle website and our Apple TVs!  It has been a blast, moving our bodies and learning to follow directions from the Koo Koo Kangaroo guys!

Kindergarteners "get loose" with Go Noodle!

Even the boys love to "get funky" with Koo Koo Kangaroo!

You can find Go Noodle at www.gonoodle.com    I suggest you try it at home, too, especially on days when your little (or big) people need to "Get Yo Body Movin!"  LOL!!!

Christmas Party Fun!

The last day before break was SO MUCH FUN!  We spent most of the morning going from room to room making holiday crafts, eating snacks, watching Christmas movies, and listening to Christmas music.  It sure was a festive way to end the year, and start our Christmas Break!

After craft time, we went back to our classroom to play a quick Christmas game!  It sure was fun dressing up our friends like Santa Claus!  We raced to see which team could "make" their Santa first, but we were all winners when it came to the laughter and great memories!!!

"Santa Hayden's" team, hard at work!

"Santa Aiden" is looking good!

We couldn't have this much fun without our parent helpers!!

"This beard is itchy!!!"

"Ho, Ho, Ho!!"

Christmas Recap

The month of December is such a blur every year, especially when you decide to take a vacation the week before school dismisses for the year!  Argh!  :)  We try to pack so much into our two and a half weeks of school, that sometimes there isn't a minute to breathe...let alone BLOG about our escapades!  But, once the Children's Christmas Program is over (and all of the practices leading up to it), we managed to get down to some serious fun!!!  Today and tomorrow, my plan is to catch you up on our festivities.  Enjoy!

Part of our celebration of the birth of Jesus included these great pictures for our families to enjoy!  I thought I would share them, so you could see all of our friends in their "Santa's Helpers" glory!!  :)

Math Centers are Number One!

We sure love math centers!  Every Tuesday and Thursday morning in Kindergarten we have Math Center time.  We count, sort, build, string, create, and use our imaginations to the fullest!  We have many different manipulatives to choose from, so the possibilities are endless!

Today, Caleb and Jack made animals and space ships with our connecting disks!

Aiden and Hayden strung beads and made some cool headbands!

Connor used the peg boards to make a rainbow cake!

And, the girls made...a big mess, but it sure was fun!

Better Late, Than Never!

Ok, I've been remiss in writing to tell you about our Johnson's Pumpkin Farm field trip!  I apologize, and use my Halloween week "candy coma" as a weak excuse!  :)

We traveled to the pumpkin farm on a VERY chilly Friday morning.  No one complained, except the adults, so it must've been a great trip!  It was!  We visited with many of Farmer Johnson's animals, took a great walk through the soybean maze, and had a delicious snack of chocolate covered donuts and apple cider!  Check out our pictures below...

Waiting for the animals to appear.  Were we on the outside looking in, or vice versa!?

Here they come!  Look at Hayden's face!!  LOL

They were all very gentle and happy to see us (and the treats we got to feed some of them!)

Feed me!!

The girls loved the soft bunny!

Connor thinks he needs one too!

Of course, we had to visit Anna and Elsa!  And appropriately, many of us were FROZEN that day!!

Still haven't found our way out!! HELP!!

All done.  Safe and sound with Spongebob and Friends!!
