Afternoon Fun!

Mrs. Gallegos does so many fun and educational activities in the afternoon, she needs her own blog!  Here are a few pictures from her latest sight word game.  Everyone loved reading their football sight words and putting them onto the quarterback!

Mystery Readers!

It's a Mystery!!

We have been having such a rewarding time with our Mystery Reader series!  We have read some great books, and experienced some really unique things!  Here is a walk down our Mystery Reader "Memory Lane" for the month of April.

Our first Mystery Reader was Mrs. Mulder.  She brought us her favorite books, "Bear's Loose Tooth," and "I Can Do It Myself!"  It was kind of funny, because that night Caleb lost his first tooth!!!

I think Caleb is playing with his loose tooth right now!?!

Our next Mystery Reader was our favorite Kitchen Queen, Mrs. Brandimore, head of our school's Nutrition Services!  Mrs. Brandimore had some "well-loved" books that she used to read to her very own kids, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish," and "Grover's Book of Little Baby Animals."

Everyone loved the pictures in the Grover book, and our visit from Mrs. Brandimore.  It was fun to see her in the classroom, instead of the kitchen!

A great surprise Mystery Reader duo was Aiden's grandma and grandpa, Mr. and Mrs. Herzberger.  Mrs. Herzberger read us a funny story called, "Interrupting Chicken!", and then guess what???  Mr. Herzberger brought in a fancy box filled with 18 baby chicks!  We were SO excited!!!!

I must go and buy this book!  So, so funny!!!

We each got a chance to hold the babies, and then we let them wander on the quilt.

We were equally horrified and delighted when they pooped everywhere on the blanket!!  LOL

What a great Kindergarten memory for us all!!

Next up, Mrs. Dzuba came in with her book, "Skippyjon Jones in the Dog House."  What a great book, and a great way to learn some new Spanish words!

We love Skippyjon Jones, and this was one we hadn't read yet!!

Mrs. Duclos surprised us as a Mystery Reader when she showed up with "Jimmy Zangwow's Out-of-This-World Moon Pie Adventure!"
We listened carefully as Jimmy went to the ends of the universe to get his hands on his favorite snack, Moon Pies and milk.

And, then GUESS WHAT?  Mrs. Duclos brought us our very own MOON PIES for snack!!  What an awesome surprise!!  It was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD!!!!

Our last Mystery Reader was Mr. Sharman!  He read the Dr. Seuss favorite, "The Lorax."
We learned a lot about appreciating the natural wonders that God has created for us to take care of.

He also read us a funny book, "My Rotten Red Headed Older Brother!"  We all got a good laugh out of that irony, as Mr. "Red Headed" Sharman shared the story!

What a great Mystery Reader month in Kindergarten!  Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!  I can't wait until next year when we get to do it all over again!!!
