Measuring Up!

Kindergarten has completed the Fall window of the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing!  We all did great, but of course, have some room to improve throughout the year.  This is a great indicator to help us work with our students in the areas needed.  We will test again in the Winter and then the Spring.  I can't wait to see the improvement!!!!

 Our new Chromebooks are awesome!!!

Reading Rockstars in Kindergarten!

We have had some great sharing during these first few weeks of Kindergarten.  Two friends brought in their favorite books to read to the class, and did such a great job!  We were introduced to If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and Don't Push the Button.  Both of these books sure had us laughing, a lot!

Cooperative Learning in Kindergarten

This week, we practiced some of the ideas that our Bethlehem teachers learned during our training sessions this summer.  One of these ideas is a strategy for cooperative learning called Rally Coach.  Our Kinder Friends paired up to solve some math problems, with one student acting first as the "player" and the second student as the "coach."  With only hints, tips, and encouragement, the coach worked to help the player through the problems, and then the pair switched roles.  What a great way to have everyone in the room engaged in learning at one time!!!

Miss Smith is Moving On Up!

Today was the start of Miss Smith's teaching time in our Kindergarten class!  We are so excited to have her here, and she did an awesome job teaching our Kinder Friends about God's Creation.  Our class is so blessed to have such a fun and talented Student Teacher this school year!
